How We Review

Last updated August 27, 2026

Every review on NoFakeReviews is labeled with exactly how it was evaluated. We never claim a higher evidence level than what actually happened.

Evidence labels

  • Hands-On Tested — a member of our team physically used the product.
  • Lab Tested — structured measurements were performed (e.g. battery drain, benchmark runs).
  • Researched — based on manufacturer data, published specifications and available evidence, without a personal hands-on claim.
  • Compared — evaluated primarily against competing products rather than in isolation.

Right now, every review on this site is labeled Researched: written from manufacturer data, published specifications and available evidence, without a hands-on claim. As we add Hands-On Tested and Lab Tested coverage, each new review will carry its own honest label — we don't upgrade a review's evidence level without actually doing that work first.

How scores work

Each category (mobiles, cars, laptops, etc.) has its own set of weighted sub-scores — for example, a phone's overall score factors in performance, camera, battery, display and value at different weights. The overall score is always calculated from those sub-scores, never set arbitrarily.
